I am actively earning my Master's in DePaul University's School of Design. In an effort to deepen connections with fellow students and the school, I accepted a part-time graphic designer role at the Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center. Working alongside another student designer, we were responsible for handling all design needs for the organization.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE: Located in Lincoln Park, the Ray Meyer Fitness and Recreation Center is DePaul University’s student gym. It is also open to local Chicago residents willing to pay the monthly fee. Offering a variety of resources – like new basketball courts, exercise classes and weekly events – how can they increase attendance and participation?
SOLUTION: By hiring a part-time graphic designer, the Ray has dedicated support to regularly update in-person and digital visuals. Designs include social media posts, posters, stickers and informational signage.
RESULTS: Tens of thousands of students and community members use the Ray annually, with over 6K following the dedicated Instagram account (@depaulcampusrec).
